Face to Face and Telehealth services are available at Avonhead Physiotherapy and Pilates for the duration of the COVID19 Alert Level 2.

Face to Face Physiotherapy Appointments

WE ARE OPEN TO SEE YOU AT THE CLINIC FROM  WEDNESDAY 8TH SEPTEMBER

We are all looking forward to resuming face to face physiotherapy appointments with you.

Telehealth appointments are still available and are recommended for vulnerable people.

You will notice some changes as we all work with the COVID 19 Alert level 2 system.

The over-reaching goals are to keep everyone safe and well and STOP COVID 19 spread.

We have put in place the following measures to ensure safety for everyone.

Making appointments You must ring to make an appointment. You cannot “walk in” without an appointment. You can ring us from outside the entry door if you wish.

Screening by phone When you ring to make an appointment you will be asked some questions about your health. IF you have any of the COVID 19 symptoms, or you have been in contact with a confirmed or probable case, you will be asked to ring the health line, you may get tested for COVID-19, and you will have to have a medical clearance before you can return.

Masks are mandatory, this means everyone must wear a mask.

Tracing is mandatory.  Please scan in using your COVID  tracer APP, or sign in with our registration form.

Hand hygiene Please clean your hands with the hand sanitizer provided before you enter the building.

Physical distancing You will notice that there will be reduced number of chairs in the waiting room and your appointment times may be at different times to what you are used to. You could wait in your car until your appointment.  There is a clear screen between the waiting area and the receptionist, and we ask you to pay in a contactless way, either by Pay wave or we will email an invoice to you for online payments.

Forms. To reduce contact between you and staff, we ask you or your referrer to e-mail necessary documents. Our team is working hard to ensure there is minimal physical contact, including consent and ACC forms, these may be done verbally through our electronic system in the meantime.

Hygiene. There will be number of extra cleaning measures in place to ensure everyone’s safety.  The treatment rooms will be cleaned, and linen changed between each patient, requiring time between appointments to carry this task out. High touch surfaces will be cleaned frequently through each day. Gym equipment must be cleaned after each use by the user. Cleaner and cloths will be available.

Telehealth Physiotherapy Appointments

Physiotherapy services via phone or video can include assessment, advice and exercise prescription.

Physiotherapy appointments will continue to be claimable under ACC and we can lodge new claims with ACC if you have a new injury.

The video and phone consultations will be 30 mins for an Initial appointment and 15 mins for a Follow up appointment. Phone and video consultations are a paid service.

Fees for Video Telehealth Consultation:

Initial ACC consultation: $35             Folllow Up ACC consultation: $35

Initial Private consultation: $75         Follow up Private consultation: $75

We will send you an invoice on the day of your consultation.

How to make a phone or video Telehealth Consultation:

To book a phone or telehealth appointment you can call the clinic as usual on 03 358 8889.  If we do not answer the phone please leave a message and we will return your call on the same day.  You will be able to arrange a phone or video consultation Monday to Friday at a time that best suits you.

Prior to your first video consultation you will receive an email explaining how to log into your consultation.  For laptap users you will be provided with a link that you can click on 5 minutes before your appointment.  If you are using a camera phone or tablet you will be provided with a link to an app you can download for free.

At the completion of your consultation our physiotherapist will rebook you for your next appointment if required and  will email you your prescribed exercises and any further advice or information.
